Lyons Bridge Beef, at 1506 Lyons Bridge Road SW in Cave Spring, has set Saturday for the grand opening of The Beef Barn. Between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., guests are invited to see the company’s retail side, featuring steaks, sauces, seasons/salts and peppers, salad dressings and cooking/grilling accessories. They specialize in “all-natural, antibiotic-free pasture-raised Angus beef” and all products are aged 21 days. You can get a better look at what’s available online (start here) and free delivery is also available in much of Northwest Georgia. Saturday’s event also includes a chance for the kids to see the farm’s calves, lambs, pigs and even a donkey.

Store hours are weekdays from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Background: Co-owner Brian Moore worked for years in a high-quality Chicago-area butcher shop which also operated a catering business and a restaurant. Co-owner Wes Walraven grew up a few miles from Lyons Bridge Farm in Cave Spring and knows about Georgia’s highly regarded cattle industry. He sought out one of the top graduates of Berry College’s cattle management/agricultural sciences programs, Micah Studdard, to manage the farm.

The 1,100-acre farm markets directly to consumers and restaurants.
