SERVE ROME announces ribbon cutting, grand opening for Sept. 24. Six groups already in partnership at Rome First United Methodist Church.

 

Media release:  Rome First United Methodist Church (Rome First) announces the grand opening of a new collaborative, non-denominational community venture called SERVE ROME. It is a cooperative venture between Rome First and other non-profit agencies that are sharing space and resources to provide  individual community services and accomplish ministry goals.

A grand opening/ribbon cutting is scheduled for Sept. 24 at 3:30 p.m. The ribbon cutting will take place in front of the SERVE ROME Building.  All members of the community are invited to attend.  Light refreshments will be served in the Wilder Dining Room and attendees will be given the opportunity to tour the building.

SERVE ROME is in the former Administration Building of Rome First UMC at 202 E. Third Ave. The church office for Rome First is on the second floor of the building.

SERVE ROME Partners located in the building are: Exchange Club Family Resource Center, Lutheran Services of Georgia, Hospitality House (Outreach Offices), Rome Symphony Orchestra Administrative Offices and One Community United.  Additionally, the 3 Rivers Singers utilize space for their music library.

The organization provides a centralized location, with convenient, onsite free parking and other shared amenities, that offers gracious hospitality and a convenient opportunity to collaborate in serving the needs of the community.  SERVE ROME is committed to helping all citizens of Rome and Floyd County through collaborative community engagement.
