Mrs. Emily Catherine Rossiter, age 44, of Rome, passed away Friday, August 31, 2018, at her residence.
Mrs. Rossiter was born in Gadsden, Ala., on May 26, 1974, daughter of the late Ray Vaughn. She was Valedictorian of her graduating class at Glencoe High School in Glencoe, Ala. She continued her academic excellence in college receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in English and her Master’s Degree in Education at Jacksonville State University. She maintained a 4.0 average during her college career. Prior to her becoming disabled, she was a teacher at Pepperell High School for a number of years. Mrs. Rossiter was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Vincent “Rusty” Rossiter III, to whom she was married on June 16, 2000; a daughter, Catie Rossiter, Rome; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Rafael Carballo, Pastor, officiating, and concelebrated by Father Valery Akoh, Parochial Vicar. Deacon Stuart Neslin and Deacon Steve Thacker will assist. Immediately following the Funeral Mass, a graveside and inurment service will be held in the Parish Memorial Garden.
A reception for family and friends in the Parish Social Hall will follow the services.

Mr. Bennie Nicholson, age 91, of Cedartown, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Nicholson was born in Coosa County, Alabama on November 6, 1926. He was a retired employee of Pepperell Manufacturing Company and was of the Baptist faith. He was married to his first wife, Lois Nicholson, who preceded him in death in 1989. He later married Nellie Iona Potts and she also preceded him in 2007. He was also preceded in death by 3 siblings.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Brenda Yarbrough (Gordon, Jr.) and Gail McEntire (Joe), all of Cedartown; a brother, Howard Nicholson (Brenda), AL; 6 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 4 p.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. The Rev. Earl Partain Sr. will officiate. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel on Tuesday evening from 6 until 9pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at their respective residences.
All pallbearers are asked to assemble on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. and are as follows: Active: David, Jeremiah, and Dustin Yarbrough, Joe Vaughn, Tyler Scoggins, and Randy McEntire; Honorary: Ryan Scoggins, Jonathan, Caden, Jakob, and Cash Yarbrough.
Rhody Eldridge Henderson, age 99, of Rome died Thursday evening, August 30, 2018 in a local health care center.
A native of Tennessee, Mr. Henderson was born March 13, 1919, son of the late Marshall and Annie Reese Henderson. He was a resident of Rome most of his life and was an employee of Fox Manufacturing Co. Mr. Henderson was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, fishing and rabbit hunting. He was an excellent carpenter and mechanic. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Army during World War II, and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal lord and savior on his 99th birthday. Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by a daughter Rhoda Joyce Henderson.
Survivors include his wife, Grady Warmack Henderson, to whom he was married October 20, 1941; a son Jerry Henderson; Grandchildren Stephanie Henderson, Lisa Ammons, and Christopher Henderson; Great grandchildren Beth Scott, Wes Scott, Hannah and Chris Henderson, Jamey and Jessica Combs, and Brody Ammons; Great great grandchildren Anderson Beau Scott, Kennedy Leigh Scott, Addyson Freeman, and Bella Jacks; A brother Robert Earl Henderson also survives.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at the North Rome Church of God with Reverend Terry Addis officiating. Interment will follow in the East View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon until the service hour.
