The Christmas in Rome Committee met this week and announced that applications for the 2018 Rome Christmas Parade are now available on the parade website at or on its Facebook page.

The date of the 2018 parade is Tuesday, Nov. 27, with a rain date of Nov. 29. Start time: 6:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “The King is Born.”  Floats and entries are encouraged to decorate in the theme of the parade.

Applications are due in by Nov. 15.  A entry fee of $100 must accompany each application.  A late fee of an additional $50 will be charged after Nov. 15.

New this year: The committee voted to increase the application fee this year to $100 per entry.  Proceeds from the parade are used to beautify the downtown area with additional Christmas lighting and to provide for general expenses of the parade.

The entry fee in 2017 was $50.

From the city of Cedartown: It’s not Christmas yet…. but it’s coming! We are excited to announce this year’s parade theme: Blue Christmas. Look for details soon, but for now, put Dec. 6 on your calendar. As always, we welcome any church, school, club, family or organization to enter a float. Stick with the theme “Blue Christmas” to be eligible to win prize money.
