Health: Dr. Erin Dunbar on glioblastoma, the cancer that claimed senators John McCain and Ted Kennedy.

Dr. Erin Dunbar, M.D. , of Piedmont Healthcare, who specializes in the comprehensive care of brain and spine tumor patients with primary and metastatic tumors, joined us on Hometown Headlines Radio Edition on WRGA 98.7 FM Tuesday morning to discuss the disease that claimed the life of John McCain and what forms of treatment are available. Glioblastoma is an aggressive type of cancer occurs in the brain or spinal cord. McCain died nine years to the day after glioblastoma claimed the life of his longtime friend, U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy. It also claimed the life of Beau Biden, son of former Vice President Joe Biden. Locally, it eventually claimed the life of Charlie Henderson, the organizer of Tumor Trooper.
