GBI arrests mother, another suspect in connection with murder of 3-year-old Calhoun boy in May.

Media release: On Friday, July 27, 2018, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested Robert Elder, age 32, and Olivia Groomes, age 26, of Calhoun, Georgia, for one count of Cruelty to Children in the Second Degree and one count of Murder in the Second Degree.

On Tuesday, May 22, 2018, the Calhoun Police Department and the GBI began an investigation regarding the death of three-year-old Sebastian Kincaid.  Kincaid was brought to the Gordon County Hospital early in the morning on May 22, 2018 by his mother (Groomes).  Kincaid was pronounced dead a short time later.

Both Groomes and Elder are currently incarcerated at the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office.

Sebastian Lucian Kincaid, 3, of Calhoun died on May 22, 2018. He is survived by his parents, James Andrew Kincaid and Olivia Grooms; his brother, Shonn Robert Stewart; his grandparents, Lynn Donaldson, James Kincaid, Jeffrey and Robbie Grooms, and Sonia Jernigan; other relatives.
