Politics: With primary runoff over, Democrats focus on fall. Floyd to elect two delegates to state convention on Aug. 2.

The Democratic Party of Georgia will hold its 2018 State Convention to kick-off the General Election campaign on Saturday, Aug. 25.  The convention will feature all of the Democratic nominees for statewide office.

Local Democrats will have an opportunity to serve as delegates to the state convention.  During their monthly meeting on Thursday, August 2, Floyd County Democrats will elect two state convention delegates.  This meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Community Room of Northwest Georgia Housing Authority (560 N. Division St.)

All Floyd County registered voters interested in participating in the Democratic caucus are encouraged to attend.  To run for a delegate position, you need be a registered voter in Floyd County, a Democrat, available to attend the convention in Atlanta and willing to support party nominees.
