Red’s stunt double is ready for the movie “Cars” at Ridge Ferry Park tonight. Fun events start at 6:00.

Join the Berry College Student Enterprises as many as 30 community vendors for our annual summer Farmers’ Market. The hours are 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at the Clara Bowl adjacent to the Ford buildings. The market will include products such as Angus Beef, jams and jellies, vegetables, eggs, artwork, handcrafted jewelry, Jersey Milk cheese and much. From Rome Floyd Parks and Recreation: Bring your chairs and blankets and join us for free outdoor movies at Ridge Ferry Park. Saturday’s feature is “Cars” with festivities starting at 6 p.m., movie around 9 p.m. Enjoy food vendors, demonstrations, inflatables and more before each movie. In this Ridge Ferry Films, our car actors will have their stunt doubles at the park!


Downtown Cartersville’s Music by the Tracks summer concert series continues on Saturday with Babes Bayou from 7-9 p.m. in the downtown plaza.  It is a rain or shine event. Babes Bayou features musicians Ryan Coker, Matt Chambers, and Matt Thornton, who are known for their awesome vocals and three part harmony. Attendees may bring their blankets or lawn chairs to the event, or just grab one of the seats in the amphitheater. Reformation Brewery will be on site with the Local Bar and Grill selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Julian’s Kitchen food truck will also be on site.


The 41st annual Polk County Homespun Festival continues today in Rockmart. Local and regional crafters display their wares throughout the park at this annual event sponsored by the Polk County Chamber of Commerce. Continuous entertainment is a highlight of the festival as well as great food and many games and events throughout the park. This event draws around 8,000 people. The Homespun 5K will be at 8 a.m. Saturday with Fun Run following at 9 a.m.Parade at 10 a.m. Fireworks will be Saturday night. Hours: 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Details


The 11th annual Great Valley Exposition returns today and Saturday at Lowery Farms, 2416 Turkey Mountain Rd. in Rome. Art, food, live music, antique trucks and tractors, “Rubber Duck Truck” from Convoy, farm museum, Sweet Corn Eating Contest, fresh produce and kids’ activities. Cost: $5 parking fee. Time: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. Details
