The first Spirit of the Sun Festival took to the rivers in Downtown Rome on Saturday. The Kingfisher Classic fishing tournament started the festivities off early on Saturday followed by the Chieftain’s Classic paddle board races in the afternoon. Both events were able to be complete before the thunderstorms moved in. The weather forced the cancellation of the evening’s free concert featuring Mario Diaz at Bridgepoint Plaza. The Rome Downtown Development Association will post award winners on Monday. Click here for more photos.
