OUTLOOK

There is a chance of thunderstorms each day, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours. A few storms could be strong to severe each day with strong, gusty winds, frequent lightning and isolated flooding from heavy rain.

From Monday: The afternoon storms left 0.29 of an inch of rain at the Rome airport; 1.22 inches at the ag station; and 0.61 of an inch in Cartersville. Gusts topped 32 mph and, at one point, more than 300 customers were without power in Floyd, Bartow, Gordon and Polk counties.

FORECAST

Tuesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 9am. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the morning.

Tuesday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Thursday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 89.
