Cruise control: Some 2,000-plus vehicles in the annual Hot Rod Power Tower passes through Summerville en route to Hoover, Ala.

Now that’s a parade: The 24th annual HOT ROD Power Tour passed through Summerville earlier today, bound for Hoover, Ala., after a stop at Chattanooga State Community Collee. It is part of the “highly anticipated seven-day, seven-city journey is expected to bring together more than 6,000 vehicles and 100,000-plus spectators making this event the largest traveling car-show in the world! The 2018 event will take place from June 9-15,” according to event’s website. The final destination is the zMax Dragway in Concord, N.C.
