Construction continues on Ira Levy’s Lofts at Third and Broad in downtown Rome with a milestone of sorts marked on Wednesday. Around 4:30 that morning, crews put down concrete for the included parking area that will support the 26 condos planned at the project, more than half of which now have commitments, Levy says. Also, two of the six retail spaces planned on the ground floor have leases. The weather the past few days has been perfect for the concrete work following more than a week of rain, much of it associated with Tropical Storm Alberto. Sales continue at Hardy Realtly.

Update on Middle Eastern Grill, the Shorter Avenue transplant with a new name, opens Monday, June 18 at 425 Broad St. Business hours will be 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, but may be adjusted in the future. The grill received a perfect 100 inspection score earlier this week in advance of that opening.
