Mrs. Caroline Grace Hawkins, age 97, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018, at a local healthcare facility.
Mrs. Hawkins was born in Chattooga County, Georgia on January 20, 1921, daughter of the late Joe R. Spain and the late Maudie Lee Ash Spain. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hawkins, and by 5 brothers and 1 sister.
Mrs. Hawkins worked for Advanced Glove until it closed and then worked as a caregiver for a number of years. She was a member of the Armuchee Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Lamar Hawkins, Cleveland, TN; two daughters, Louise Parris and her husband, Adrain, Cedar Bluff, AL, and Glenda Jackson, Lindale; a sister, Lucille Green; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Thursday, June 7, 2018, from 4 until 5 p.m. Private interment will take place at Armuchee Baptist Church Cemetery.
Eloise Braden Warnock, age 92, of Rome died Friday evening, June 1, 2018 at her residence.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Warnock was born February 24, 1926, daughter of the late Robert Alonzo Braden and Dockie Boswell Braden. She had been a resident of Rome all her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rome. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Burlington Mills. She was a strong and stubborn woman who took care of her family, in particular her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and loved to sew. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters Clayton, John Lewis, and Georgia Braden, Mildred Satterfield, and her husband Quillian Warnock.
Survivors include her daughter Kim Williams: grandchildren Brittany Kidd and Eric Moore, and great great grandson Mason Kidd.
Graveside funeral and interment services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Sunset Hill Memory Gardens with Reverend Randy Lambert officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon until 2 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Hom. The following gentlemen will serve as pall bearers: Chad Braden, Shane Wilson, Michael Braden, Eric Moore, Hunter Braden, and Michael Chandler.
Mrs. Fannie Bell Isbell Ray, of Silver Creek, GA, died Sunday June 3, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Ray was born in Bartow County, GA on October 5, 1927, daughter of the late Harold Isbell and Annie Landers Isbell. She was a loving housewife, mother, and of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Ray was an avid golfer and a member of the BEAA Country Club, Kraftsman Club and Roman Country Club. She also had a passion for fishing and bowling. Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by husband, James Hoyt Ray, in June of 2010, whom she married November 15, 1944, son, James Edward “Eddie” Ray in 2001, and brother Fred Isbell.
Mrs. Ray is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Kenneth and Debbie Ray of Griffin, GA, and Larry Ray and Jenny Hess Ray of Rome, GA, five grandchildren: Beth Wilkins, Patrick Ray, Chris Ray, Marla Poissant, and Jonathan Ray and ten great-grandchildren. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ray will be held Wednesday morning, June 6, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Wilkins, Jr. and Dr. Ken Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Ray will remain at Salmon Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. and include Malachi Wilkins, Caleb Ray, Patrick Ray, Mark Tate, Jonathan Ray and Jamie Poissant.
Mr. Timothy Lamar Foster, age 58, of Rome, Georgia, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018, surrounded by the love of his family. Wright Memorial Mortuary.
