Buzz: Spring Art Market returns this weekend. Rome City Commission holding planning retreat. Salvation Army’s ‘Run for Homeless’ 5K on Saturday.

The annual Spring Art Market returns this weekend, April 7-8, at the Rome Civic Center. The annual event celebrates Georgia artists, crafters, and growers with an expanded collection of gifts, foods and outdoor decor. You can shop Georgia Made Georgia Grown, from hand-crafted jewelry to homemade jams, to professional photography and art work. Free admission and free parking. Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. The Rome City Commission will have a planning retreat on April 3-4 at the Rome Police Training Center, 2626 Callier Springs Rd. Retreat Agenda and Schedule


Join The Salvation Army at the 5th Annual “Run for the Homeless” 5K and 1 Mile this Saturday, April 7 at 8 a.m. at Redmond Regional Medical Center. The event raises money to continue the mission of providing food and shelter to homeless individuals and families. New this year: the race is an official qualifying event for the Peachtree Road Race.
