Mr. Alfred Franklin “Sam” Trapp Sr., age 80, of Armuchee passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017, at his residence.
Mr. Trapp was born on July 27, 1937, in Rome, GA, son of the late Lester Ivey Trapp and the late Helen Louise Addington Trapp.
He was known throughout Rome and Northwest Georgia as an independent contractor, specializing in concrete and masonry work. Mr. Trapp was a loving and devoted family man, who enjoyed grilling and spending time outside. He was a passionate gardener and loved animals.
His gift of being giving, kind and willing to lend a hand or the shirt off his back has been lovingly left as a legacy to his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Alfred was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Trapp Parker.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Doris Parrish Trapp, Armuchee; two sons, Jimmy Trapp, Rome, Alfred F. Trapp, Jr., Armuchee; three daughters, Amanda Kerr, and her husband, Javier Enriquez, Rome; Angela Clark, and her husband, Kyle, Calhoun, Tonya Brown, and her husband, Daniel, Calhoun; 14 grandchildren, Alfred F. Trapp III (Lauren), Calhoun, Brandon Trapp, Rome, Immanuel Kerr-Brown, Pennsylvania, Destiny Kerr-Brown, Chattanooga, TN, Elijah Kerr-Brown, Chapel Hill, NC, Javier Enriquez, Jr. (Brandy), Jack Enriquez (Joanna), all of Savannah, Josh Allen (Erica), Calhoun, Cheyenne Windiate (Dusty), Calhoun, Brody Allen, Washington State, Auston Rhoades, Danika Brown, Aspen Brown, all of Calhoun; 3 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Wallace, Cave Spring, Bonnie Clontz, Armuchee; a brother, Phil Trapp, Cave Spring; many, many loving nieces and nephews.
His fur-baby, Jake, also survives.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Henderson and Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel. with Pastor Joey Ineichen officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 11, 2017, from 4 until 7 p.m. at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home on Sunday by 1:30 p.m. and include, Tony Brock Eric Tate, Pablo Espinoza, Thomas Reece, Artie Selman and Mark Self. Honorary pallbearers include, Tony Langston, Bud Self, Tom Bennett and Jimmy Smithson.
Mr. Bob Arnold Davis, age 92, of Cave Spring, Ga., passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017.
He was born on July 14, 1925 in Armuchee, Ga. He was the son of the late William Hubbard Davis and Bessie Owens Davis.
Mr. Davis served his country in the US Army Air Corp in World War II as a B-17 Aerial Gunner. He spent several months as a German POW, returning home safely in 1945. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and taught at the Georgia School for the Deaf in Cave Spring until retirement. He was a lifelong farmer.
Mr. Davis is survived by his twin brother, Bill Gordon Davis, of Cave Spring, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Lois Davis, Eola Morgan, Lucille Byars, Miriam Cox and four brothers, Walter, Paul, Hugh and James Davis.
The family received Friday at Cave Spring United Methodist Church followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. with Reverends John Page and Robin Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow at Cave Spring Cemetery.
